Big Box on My Doorstep!

The last of the stamp pad holders have arrived. Once these are gone, that's it!
I have about 12 left in stock. All the ribbon holders are gone now!

This box holds new Copic marker colours, and some gorgeous new sandable cardstock.
I will take a picture and put it up on my blog tomorrow.

Anyone looking for graduation embellishments. I only received 3 packages but they are super cute!

Until tomorrow... Gotta start clearing out all the stuff that has sold on Fargocat Shops and start planning for Christmas!!! yes I said it, Christmas and Winter, my favourite times for cards.

Oh, can't wait until this day job is over so I can start seriously stamping.

Sunday!! Time to Recharge, Relax but first I gotta Clean!!

Today is cleaning day. I was going to post a picture of a pair of rubber gloves, but decided on this instead!

Yesterday I spent all day at gorgeous Liscomb Lodge. Rachel Porter (a good friend) and I left New Glasgow at 6:30 a.m. and after a relaxing but a little bumpy ride, arrived at the Lodge at 8 a.m. First, I could not believe I did not know more about this place. I am sure if it had a golf course attached, it would be sold out every weekened. Open space, beautiful wood buildings, lots of levels, pontoon boat rides and I was told the rooms are spacious and more than adequate for a Lodge type setting. It is now open from 7 a.m. until 8 or 9 p.m. Full course breakfast for $11.95 (I believe) and lunch and dinner. Believe me, take a drive on a Sunday, (John and Priscilla - you listening) you won't be disappointed. Natural shade and cover from the trees. I believe they also have kids activities as well, there was some sort of scavenger hunt going on while I was there.

I have been to a lot of Stampin' Up! conventions, leadership events, special invite only events and cruises, . Dawn Howard created an atompshere for 46 women (Hi to those that travelled from PEI)that would rival any event I have attended. Lots of room for the scrapbookers, muffins, tea, coffee, water available all day and in the afternoon, fresh baked cookies,.... cookies, people! Natural light in one huge spacious room. The other room did not have windows but also provided pretty much a full scrapbook store to shop in without walking very far. They all received gift bags, and from what I saw on Saturday I think they were treated like the scrapbooking princesses they all were. Games, bowls of candy, and when I left, Dawn and her workers were preparing the fruit for a chocolate fountain. Seriously, next year, check this event out! I know you will get your money's worth and more.

Fargocat Shops set up shop in an outer corridor and we were very busy! Thank you ladies for being so generous and kind. My Quick Quote packages were a big hit and sold out in the morning. Getting more in and you will see more about this line of scrapbook kits in the coming weeks. Lisa MacLeod won the grand door prize and Dawn was tracking down the other two winners for me when we left.

There were classes going on all weekend, some with a fee, but mine was free to introduce myself to these ladies. Yvonne helped me with a sketch above, but when it came down to supplies, I had to take some suggestions and rearrange a few things.
Yvonne's sketch shows how you can match your scrapbook paper to cardstock using your distress inks. Mine showed them how to use SMOOCH which was a big hit! And how to ink through stencils and create your own embellishments using a bird stencil, plus they could chalk all or none of their images and move things around. The classes were held upstairs in a great room with wonderful natural light. Like a big cozy family room complete with fireplace. I liked the two levels, less hectic in the classroom area.

A great drive home except for a duck wandering around in the middle of the highway, no I stopped my car and drove around him....no duck incident. Thanks Dawn for inviting me and thanks to everyone at the event for being so sweet to Rachel and myself. Will be contacting you in the future so you can follow my blog!

Okay, back to those rubber gloves, unfortunately.

Fargocat Shops is expecting a shipment in this week and will be open next Sunday!

I'm Officially Retiring!

Fargocat Shops is turning into a labour of love. And to properly nuture this new addition to my life, I have to shower some tender loving care on it.

So I am giving up my day job and probably will be working twice as hard to turn Fargocat Shops into a fantastic place to be inspired by!

And I will get all of this started by attending CHA in Chicago the end of July!
Whoo Hoo! I have already registered for the Christmas Flower Soft workshop and the Hero Arts Christmas Workshop! Plus I get to see the latest Spellbinders and Nestabilties because..............I will be carrying them in my shop! Plus the stamps that fit into these dies!

Yeah, I cannot wait to get on that plane and bring back lots of new ideas. But, first, I have to finish working and let Yvonne carry the design workload!

New items have arrived and she is getting started on new ideas!
Can't wait Yvonne to see what you are working on!

Guess What! I have this Product!

When I placed my second order, I had heard great things about Donna Salazar who designs scrapbook paper and altered projects.

I saw this Crafty Chronicle and thought, WOW! and then my second thought was, okay, who will see the creative ideas in this just waiting to bust out! Well, zip forward to my frriend, Nancy who was visiting yesterday. I think I almost made her buy it!
Anyone looking for step by step instructions on how to make paper flowers, you need this....and you use the Chronicle to make the papers with! Genius, I say!

And then, my dynamic designer Yvonne, found this link to the actual "Crafty Chronicle" Click here and be inspired by the Girlfriends Club! It's only $2.25 (can be mailed very inexpensively) and I only have 7 left!!

Tomorrow, I have huge news!! I can't wait to tell you, make sure you check back tomorrow!

Wedding in Cape Breton!

We spent Saturday in Beautiful Glace Bay! After a late start, turn around and go back for Lawrence's shoes, then a stop at the Bay in Sydney for pantyhose for me and a change at a gas station for Lawrence into his suit, we arrived at the Church with about 20 minutes to spare. Pretty good! Lawrence and I are both from Cape Breton, I grew up in Donkin (about 15 minutes from Glace Bay) and Lawrence is from Tower Road (about 5 minutes from Glace Bay). When Lawrence was hired at Michelin Tire about 30 years ago, that brought us to New Glasgow area.

The wedding was beautiful, both families are large (many sibblings) so the Church was packed. The bride is Angela Wilson, daughter of Lawrence's niece, Francie and she married B.J. Tracey, who is a great guy. I know they will have a wonderful life together. The other lady in the picture above is Lawrence's sister-in-law Rose who came from Toronto to attend the event.

Supper was delicious and we even had time for a trip to the famous "Chip Wagon". This is a Must Attend event when you come to Cape Breton, a trip home is not complete until you have the most delicious hand cut and deep fried french fries from a truck! They even knew what wedding we were there for, now that's a great small town for you.

We left for home about 7:30, even squeezed in a trip to McFadgens bakery for some treats. Stores just can't bake like the old bake shops can. We couldn't wait, made tea about 10:30 last night and had the thinest, most delicious oat cakes I have ever had.

Now, on to more important things! Yvonne and I will be announcing the winners of the blog contest tomorrow! Yeah! Watch for the post about 6 p.m. from me as I work until 4:30! Keep your fingers crossed!
