Paper Craft Retreat Saturday, October 23!

But that is so far away, Deborah! I know, but it will be here before you know it.
Now why is this so exciting you ask? Scrapbookers have tons of crops and weekend events (I am hosting one myself in Truro on Oct.16th) but I have yet to see an all day devoted to rubberstamping.

Now I will be reminding you about this event in the coming weeks, but it is only limited to 30 and there is an awesome prize for early-bird entry. (The new Martha Stewart scoring board is just one of the items) Plus we have a fabulous teacher joining us to teach a class, and I will be bringing my shop to one of the most gorgeous places on earth....Stonehame Lodge in Pictou County.

If you are coming from out of Town, I have personally taken a tour of 3 styles of accommodations at the Lodge and I can highly recommend a Lodge Room (double occupancy is $115.00 a night) A one bedroom chalet ($170.00 a night) and so on. The larger chalets have a stove and fridge, the smaller ones have a fridge.
Please check the Lodge link on the Retreat page and take a tour yourself if you decide to stay, you book all accommodations directly at the Lodge. The Lodge has wireless internet access and TV's in each room.

Here is the link, just email me directly if you have any questions:
http://www.fargocatdesigns.com/p/first-paper-crafts-retreat-saturday.html

Or just click on the Paper Crafts page to your right!
Let's get stamping!

Yeah - Hero Arts Finally Arrived and Apple Pie Memories Too!

Hero Arts! Finally in the house! Apple Pie Memories is here too!
Today I am pricing and trying to get everything uploaded.

Apple Pie Memories are acrylic blocks that come with grid lines and without grid lines...........and for those with strength problems with their hands......they also come with a handle that mounts to the block for ease in holding the whole acrylic block and applying pressure to stamp.

I ordered in one handle and you can try it when you come out to play, I will be taking orders for the handles if you would like one. This item is so new the Company does not even have a picture of it, so I will take a picture and post it for you. But trying is believing. I have blocks with grid lines, blocks that are clear, packages of different sizes and different grips.

Tomorrow, I have GIGANTIC news! The date for the first, Paper Crafts Retreat! A one day retreat for rubber stamping enthusiasts! Finally, an event for us!
Stop by tomorrow for all the details!

What's New at Fargocat Shops!

Good Morning:
Fargocat Shops is now updated with all May Arts Ribbon and GlueArts!
I am waiting on my orders before I update so you know when you come to visit, I will have the products in stock.

I have created a new Page titled:
Stamps + Cardstock + Ink= Creativity where I will be posting card pictures that correspond to products I will be carrying in the shop so you can check out how they were used before you purchase.

I think I have been neglecting all of my scrapbook friends so here is a page taken at CHA I believe by Basic Gray. I have to get my pictures organized so I know how to identify the paper!

Busy Weekend at Fargocat Shops!

Today is Saturday but it feels more like Sunday! The shop has been busy yesterday and today with some new and familiar faces. Flower Soft continues to be a big seller and I am still looking for a date for my class.

I did manage to update something on my Fargocat Shops site that had been bugging me.
Now, if you click on blog,it takes you right to my current blog page! Now, it only took me about two days to figure this out. I felt like high-fiving someone when I fixed it, but only here by myself! (LOL) Computers are so frustrating sometimes!

Still waiting on Hero Arts, it has to be here on monday!!

More Sneak Peeks From Hero Arts!

Here are a couple more of the stamps that are arriving in my order from Hero Arts which I am hoping will be here tomorrow, they promised Monday at the latest!
I love this tree and will be showing you a new technique with this class. The other acrylic set just has oodles of possibilities - so much to play with!

Lots of pearls and gemstones coming in to decorate and play with, also some perfect pearls. Wait until you see what we do with those!

Today was spent doing more spring/summer cleaning. Hubbie was in Amherst at a golf tournament so you know what happens when the husbands are away and you are cleaning - right!! A more thorough cleaning because someone is not there to say, no you can't throw out that 1999 issue of Golf Digest! Yeah, right!

You should see what happens when he goes to Florida! I once cleaned out an entire freezer and he did not miss a thing. Good thing it was in January as the bears were sleeping all through that meat festival in my recycling bin! Can you imagine, it would have been a bear fiesta in my back yard.

Also working on a Paper Crafts Retreat - just finalizing a location and date.

Ribbon, Ribbon, Ribbon!!

Today my good intentions got away from me. I was dedicated to finishing my two cards and updating my online store with new products. The afternoon quickly flew by trying to relearn how to upload data. Why do they make computers so hard to work with? Then my husband came home from golf and we went out to supper! Perfect end to a day.

Tomorrow back to my agenda, and I promise I will have the newsletter out with the class dates, times and prices!

In the meantime, here are some of the gorgeous ribbons I ordered from May Arts, 28 spools in all which you can purchase by the yard. Believe me,this was no small feat choosing from a multitude of ribbons in all sizes, widths, fabrics and colours.
I could have spent my whole allowance on ribbon.

Yvonne's Visit and Hero Arts Sneak Peek!

Last night was devoted to an evening of Show And Tell. Mostly I showed and we both chatted. Three hours flew by. Yvonne dropped off my new Just Rite stamps and wood blocks and some of her wonderful cards for design ideas and then we discussed everything I ordered at CHA and all the neat items I brought back with me.

Yvonne left with a great assortment of the new Basic Grey collection which I received for ordering, so she has some of the new line that I ordered in and some other items that she can juse in her papercrafting to blog about, like the new Copic Tearable Tape just out.

Oh now is when I wish we lived closer! The trouble we could get into.

Now a sneak peek of one of the stamp sets from Hero Arts that is on its way! This stamp is adorable, you can use it so many ways on a card and it actually is part of a clear acrylic set which contains a lot of wonderful images. I ordered in 10 sets and this will be part of a Hero Arts Xmas Class. I just have to wait for the bling and ribbon!!

Tune in tomorrow for another sneak peek!

On Their way from Penny Black!

The booth at Penny Black was amazing. The Make n Take card we did was gorgeous. I will be having a special Hedgehog Christmas Class using the set above and I also ordered in something a little different like the girl pushing the wheelbarrow above. I thought they were just a little on the old-fashioned side and beautiful for Copics.

Speaking of Copics, they have a new double sided tape that you can actually tear with your fingers. I just placed an order for all shades of blue in Copics and some of their new tape!

Tomorrow - Hero Arts!

CHA - How can I describe it!

After a great direct flight to Chicago, I checked in at CHA at the Donald Stephens Covention Centre and got my registration goodies! The hotel was within walking distance and they also had a shuttle which came in very handy when your rolling bag weighed about 50 pounds. My friend Madeleine was staying with me so the Company made it all that more fun! Monday morning we had our first class, Flower Soft! We made 3 projects which turned out fabulous and left with very generous product samples to take home. The more I work with Flower Soft, the easier the learning curve is and the better my projects look. In the afternoon, I took a Hero Arts class which was fun, chance to see the new Xmas sets and they also give you lots of free product to take home. (But I must admit, the free make n take cards I did the next day in the Hero Arts booth, I liked more than the class cards)

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were just a blur of seeing all of the newest products for Fall, Halloween and Christmas. I started walking at about 8:30 a.m.and was on my feet until 6 p.m. So much to see and do, you just can't take it all in. The most popular classes filled up within minutes, some of them I just did not get to participate in but the ones I did participate I loved.

Oh, and did I mention, that when you order at the show, your order ships first! So, I will be one of the shops with the newest products first!

Okay, who did I order from?

Hero Arts - their newest stamps for the Holidays, some Fall and lots of great trim embellishments for cards

Penny Black- Wait until you see the Christmas, Hedge Hog and seasonal stamps I ordered here. The card we created was adorable. You will love these card classes, I promise.

Heartfelt Creations is brand new and the card above I featured is from them.
This company has partnered with Spellbindes to create their own dies that match their stamps. I promise you will love these cards, we will be creating layered creations of flowers and more. These are stunning cards.

Anna Griffin - Scrapbooking Enthusiasts - I ordered in one complete line of Christmas papers, embellishments and some card kits. Anna Griffin is known for her detailed, exquisite papers. Gorgeous does not even cover it for a description.

Basic Gray - Could not resist, Basic Gray Lovers - I have you covered! Papers, embellishments from 2 new lines. You will love these!

Apple Pie Memories - Grid blocks for your clear stamps. At fantastic prices. Now you can see through and line up perfectly with these blocks! We will be using these in classes.

May Arts - Words cannot describe. Ribbon, oh the Ribbon - I did narrow it down to about 25 (maybe 30) different ribbons, sheers, organza's, wides, narrows. I promise you will just melt when you see these amazing ribbons and you can purchase by the yard! When I say I had a hard time deciding, the booth was huge and just filled with these spools of ribbons. Really, they made it extremely hardto choose!

Spellbinders- Ordered the newest spellbinders and some surprises! Great prices plus no tax, remember!

Impression Obsession - This is a company that has 3 distinct lines. Tim Holtz products where I ordered his latest Xmas stamps, plus Inky Antics where I ordered some cute Xmas stamps plus lots of neat boxes, templates for creative cards. Fun, fun, fun describes this order!

Magazines - I will now be carrying some of your favourite rubber stamp magazines and the first people to sign up to receive the upcoming monthly magazine, will receive wonderful new magazines and books. Watch for news on this!

Just Rite Stamps - Some Christmas but I also ordered in some others so we can do some all occasion cards - now have a catalog from them so can take direct orders for you!

Now I know there is at least one or two more, just can't remember at the moment.
Some of these are shipping this week, Hero Arts, ribbon, some are shipping at the end of the month, Basic Gray, etc.

And.......some are going directly to my designer, Yvonne, so she can get started on creating some wonderful cards and scrapbook pages for me!

Also, I received some wonderful prizes while I was there and came home with a suitcase full of products that I will be giving away with purchase in the months to come! It's a win-win situation!

Now on Friday, I attended the Consumer Craft Show for a couple of hours which was fun in its own way. Lots of free cards to make, give-aways, and you could purchase products from craft vendors at this event. Nice way to take a little vacation and do some serious crafting at the same time.

Well, I think that is the end of this post. Watch for more pictures to come tomorrow.

I took a little vacation this weekend as I was more than tired!
